A simple place, run by a husband and wife team: he in the kitchen, she at the service. He is Sardinian, so the menu range from typical Tuscan dishes, including excellent meat, and typical Sardinian cuisine. A few carefully prepared dishes, and an excellent propensity to not waste: for example, their bread is homemade with leftover pizza dough reworked the same evening. And talking about pizza, the Bistro is also a good pizzeria with both classic and “imaginative” pizzas. They offer take away service for both the pizzeria and the kitchen.

Simple family-run restaurant with excellent typical Tuscan cuisine, mainly land-based dishes but always with at least one seafood dish on the menu, and a lovely terrace overlooking a green valley with a river flowing at the bottom, which brings a pleasant coolness even on the warmest evenings. If the sky is clear at night, you’ll be able to admire the magnificent sight of the moon rising behind the hill, and the pretty village of Santa Luce, with its small church lit up on the left side of the terrace, is also a pleasant and relaxing view.

If you are not looking for a “real” dinner, but rather a tasting of local organic products (cheeses, salami, vegetables, honey, wines, craft beer, etc. that you can also buy in the little farm’s shop) while you relax looking at the landscape of our hills, this is your place. Open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7.30pm onwards.  For lovers of fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants – though, as you might expect, these experiences are anything but cheap – there’s a real gem called Locanda Martinelli, tucked away in the tiny village of Nibbiaia, just a stone’s throw from Il Cubetto.
The chef, Michele Martinelli, has an impressive background. Before returning to his beloved Tuscany, he cooked for numerous royal families across Europe and the Middle East. Among his most notable patrons are Queen Rania of Jordan and the royals of Luxembourg, for whom he served as Executive Chef for several years. At Queen Rania’s table, he prepared meals for presidents and crowned heads from around the world, including Queen Elizabeth II and then-Prince Charles, King Muhammad IV of Morocco, President George Bush, the Emir of Qatar, the Emir of Bahrain, Sheikh Zayed of the United Arab Emirates, and even another distinguished Tuscan, former Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.

Restaurant specialized in cooking meats over live coals. A wide selection of beef, pork and chicken top-quality with organic Irish Angus as the signature dish: a meat that can even be overcooked but still remains tender.
The owner, Mario Tarantola, grew up in New York in a beautiful villa on Long Island, after his parents, who emigrated young from Italy, had made their fortune. He pursued the American dream in reverse, and after returning to Italy he spent thirty years in the music world as the frontman (known as Terence Holler) of the power metal band Eldritch. Because of the many connections he maintained with the VIP music scene it is not uncommon to meet famous musicians from the Italian and international scene dining at his restaurant.
